Excerpt from A Return to Love
Our deepest fear is not that
we are inadequate,
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure
It is our light, not our darkness,
that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves, who am I
to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
-Marianne Williamson, excerpt from A Return to Love

A Mother’s Love
My little boy came into the kitchen this evening while I was
fixing supper. And he handed me a piece of paper he'd been
writing on. So, after wiping my hands on my apron, I read it,
and this is what it said:
For mowing the grass, $5.
For making my own bed this week, $1.
For going to the store $.50.
For playing with baby brother while you went shopping, $.25.
For taking out the trash, $1.
For getting a good report card, $5.
And for raking the yard, $2.
Well, I looked at him standing there expectantly, and a
thousand memories flashed through my mind. So, I picked
up the paper, and turning it over, this is what I wrote:
For the nine months I carried you,
growing inside me,
No Charge.
For the nights I sat up with you,
doctored you prayed for you,
No charge.
For the time and the tears,
and the cost through the years,
No Charge.
For the nights filled with dread,
and the worries ahead,
No Charge.
For advice and the knowledge,
and the cost of your college,
No Charge.
For the toys, food and clothes,
and for wiping your nose,
No Charge.
Son, when you add it all up,
the full cost of my love is
No Charge.
Well, when he finished reading, he had great big tears in his eyes.
And he looked up at me and he said, "Mama, I sure do love you."
Then he took the pen and in great big letters he wrote:
PAID IN FULL.

Why Women Cry?
A little boy asked his mother, "Why are you crying?"
"Because I'm a woman," she told him.
"I don't understand," he said.
His mom just hugged him and said,
"And you never will."
Later the little boy asked his father,
"Why does mother seem to cry for no reason?"
"All women cry for no reason," was all his dad could say.
The little boy grew up and became a man,
still wondering why women cry.
Finally he put in a call to God.
When God got on the phone, he asked,
"God, why do women cry so easily?"
God said: "When I made woman she had to be special.
I made her shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the world,
Yet gentle enough to give comfort.
I gave her an inner strength to endure childbirth and the rejection
that many times comes from her children.
I gave her a hardness that allows her to keep going when everyone
else gives up,
and take care of her family through sickness and fatigue without
complaining.
I gave her the sensitivity to love her children under any and all
circumstances,
even when her child has hurt her very badly.
I gave her strength to carry her
husband through his faults
and fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart.
I gave her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts his wife,
but sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve
to stand beside him unfalteringly.
And finally, I gave her a tear to shed.
This is hers exclusively to use whenever it is needed."
"You see my son," said God,
"The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears,
the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair.
The beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes, because
that is the doorway to her heart - the place where love
resides."

Don't Quit
When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debt is high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far.
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,
It's when things seems worst, that you must not quit.

Phenomenal Woman
Pretty women wonder where my
secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
they think I'm telling lies.
I say,
It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of honey bees.
I say,
It's the fire in my eyes,
And the flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
Men themselves have wondered
What they see in me.
They try so much
But they can't touch
My inner mystery.
When I try to show them
They say they still can't see.
I say,
It's in the arch of my back,
The sun of my smile,
The ride of my breasts,
The grace of my style.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
Now you understand
Just why my head's not bowed.
I don't shout or jump about
Or have to talk real loud.
When you see me passing
It ought to make you proud.
I say,
It's in the click of my heels,
The bend of my hair,
the palm of my hand,
The need of my care,
'Cause I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.

Always Believe In Yourself
Always
Believe In Yourself
Get to
know yourself what you can do
and what you cannot do for only you
can make
your life happy
Believe that by working, learning and achieving
you can reach your goals
and be successful
Believe in your own creativity
as a means of expressing
your true feelings
Believe in appreciating life
Be sure to have fun every day and to enjoy
the beauty in the world
Believe in love
Love your friends
your family, yourself
and your life
Believe in your dreams
and your dreams can become a reality

You Deserve The Best
This life is yours
take the power to choose what you
want to do and do it well
Take the power to love what you want in life
and love it honestly
Take the power to walk in the forest
and be a part of nature
Take the power to control your own life
No one else can do it for you
Nothing is too good for you
You deserve the best
Take the power to make your life
healthy
exciting
worthwhile
and very happy
Take the power to reach for your dreams

Always Create Your Own Dreams and Live
Life to the Fullest
Dreams can come
true if you take the time to
think about what you want in life
Get to know yourself, Find out who you are
Choose your goals carefully
Be honest with yourself
Always believe in yourself
Find many
interests and pursue them
Find out what is important to you
Find out what you are good at
Don't be afraid
to make mistakes
Work hard to achieve successes
When things are not going right
don't give up - just try harder
Give yourself
freedom to try out new things
Laugh and have a good time
Open yourself up to love
Take part in the beauty of nature
Be appreciative of all that you have
Help those less
fortunate than you
Work towards peace in the world
Live life to the fullest
Create your own dreams and
follow them until they are a reality

The Beauty of a
Woman
The Beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears,
The figure that she carries,
Or the way she combs her hair.
The beauty of a woman must be seen from her eyes,
Because that is the doorway to her heart,
The place where love resides.
The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole,
But the true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.
It is in her caring that she lovingly gives,
The Passion that she shows,
And the beauty of a woman
With passing years - only grows!

Be
Be understanding to your enemies, Be loyal to your
friends.
Be strong
enough to face the world each day.
Be weak enough to know you cannot do everything alone.
Be generous to those who need your help.
Be frugal with what you need yourself.
Be wise enough to know that you do not know everything.
Be foolish enough to believe in miracles.
Be willing to share your joys.
Be willing to share the sorrows of others.
Be a leader when you see a path others have missed.
Be a follower when you are shrouded by the mists of uncertainty.
Be the first to congratulate an opponent who succeeds.
Be the last to criticize a colleague who fails.
Be sure where your next step will fall, so that you will not tumble.
Be sure of your final destination, in case you are going the wrong way.
Be loving to those who love you.
Be loving to those who do not love you, and they may change.
Above all,
be yourself.

To Go
To Heaven"
I don't have to die to go to heaven
No hollow bones that turn to dust
It takes a special man to care for me
And heal my wounds with his tender touch...
I listen to all of his smiles
I lay down with his conversation
I unlock my heart when he looks into my eyes
And I feel and want his every sensation...
He said he's never going to hurt me
As he removed my blindfold of fear
He melts me from the inside out
And there are no signs of danger here...
So now I have surrendered my heart
For he's consumed in all of me
Like the moon will always follow the sun
He is the light that is guiding me...
No, I don't have to die to go to heaven
No hollow bones that turn to dust
It takes a special man to care for me
And heal my wounds with his tender touch...

I Am Only Me
I
am only me, that is all that I can be
No more, no less, don't second guess
I love, I laugh, I live and cry,
I've wished at times, that I could die
Some
days I'm funny, others I'm not,
Sometimes I'm in overdrive and can't stop
I am a loyal and honest friend,
You know that I'll be there until the end
I am a mother, my children my greatest gift,
The smiles on their faces always give me a lift
I am a romantic, sensual, sexual, and passionate too,
To the love of my life, I'll share this with you
I
can be sweet and shy or sassy and bold,
I'm quite a handful, or so I've been told
I am not perfect, I do have my faults,
Like when I get scared I put up high walls
Or I'm not as forgiving, as I'd sometimes like to be,
Because when I hurt, I hurt deeply
My
logic is all my own, at times misunderstood,
Because I don't always do things for my own good
I have many facets, like a diamond you see...
I am only me.
